Prague Pranayama & Yoga Nidra: Breathe & Rest like a Yogi Weekend

This weekend workshop will cover the basics of both Panayama and Yoga Nidra , how they relate to the 8 Limbs of Yoga as a successive practice to be done after yoga asana. The weekend will include both theory and practice sessions with notes and materials from various authentic yoga texts.

About The Event

Workshop Program

Friday evening (open to all)

Time 6pm Duration: 2.5 - 3 hrs

  • Intro to pranayama
  • Session of breathing/pranayama / 3 x surya namaskar with pranayama
  • Pranayama as the progressive limb of yoga: intro to philosophy of pranayama
  • Intro to Yoga nidra progressive limb of yoga
  • Yoga nidra session for relaxation and awareness

Saturday (course participants only)

Time : 9.30 - 16.45 Duration: 6 hrs (excl lunch 1.5 hrs)

  • 09.30 Short grounding meditation
  • 09.40 Intro to Pranayama during asana practice (30 mins)
  • 10.10 Slow yoga session with Ujayi Pranayama (1 hour)
  • 11:00 Short nidra (20 mins) - Leigh
  • 11.30 break/lunch (1.15hr)
  • 12.45 Sankyalpa & Candles : setting the tone for your practice & intention (15 mins)
  • 13:00 Intro to pranayama philosophy and theory Part 1 (30-40 mins)
  • 13.40 Pranayama practice 1 (30 mins)
  • 14.10 Nidra - (30 mins) - Leigh
  • 14.40 Tea break
  • 14.55 Nidra Practice: for sleep and healthy sleep patterns (25 mins) - Leigh
  • 15.20 Nidra Theory, benefits and application: Part 1 - Leigh
  • 16.00 Pranayama practice 2 (30 mins)

Home practice: 10 mins pranayama plus yoga nidra for sleep before bed
