Thank you all so much for such a beautiful, inspiring, nourishing and nurturing weekend. I really feel it was quite a transformative couple of days! The word "privilege" springs to mind :-) For me the most powerful message was " The Pause is as important as the note. Something to remember!

I never really knew anything about yoga & I never was interested in that kind of fitness meditation stuff. Then I came to J-Bay and to friends of mine asked me to join a yoga session with Justin. Ashtanga yoga (!?) I've never heard about that before but during my very first yoga session with Justin I fell in love with it and especially with the way Justin does yoga! He's an absolute professional yogi and taught me a lot about yoga and I improved my skills quickly. In the end of my 3 month internship I was definitely addicted to yoga and did it everyday. Thank you Justin  and Leigh for making my time in jbay so special & for making me feel special as well. Namaste!

"I was thinking the other day how several things from our Pause weekend have been integrated into my life since then - I've started going to a yoga class for the first time in years, (90 minutes on a Monday morning is a great way to start the week!), I'm journalling again, I've more or less quit caffeine after discovering I like drinking hot water, and I'm prioritising getting out into nature whenever I can.  All of those seeds were planted or watered during that weekend in the woods.

 

I've had several frantic years, with lots of change and challenge, and I've always been focused on pushing myself and doing as much as I possibly can while carrying lots of guilt for all the things I'm not doing. This year's 'intention' is breathing space, and one of the quotes that stays with me, and helps me quiet my inner gremlins 'the pause is as important as the note'.  So thank YOU!

“For me it came at the right time. In your write up you used the words ‘support network’ and ‘giving yourself time’ and I thought this is exactly what I need right now. It was also important for me to have the aspect of being committed. So this created the right atmosphere that when you are committed you don’t want to let the group down and you don’t want to let yourself down. So making the commitment really helped. And also how quickly we as a group connected, that was really special.

I had a bit of background in mindfulness but had never really made a commitment to myself before, so I found this really valuable. Also making the commitment of really taking care of myself. “It is not often where you can just feel comfortable and easily laugh together. What I really liked about it was the lying down (yoga nidra)
